Whats your ‘signature’ scent??

Lately I have been browsing the fragrance forums and noticed guys have a ‘signature scent’ when it comes to EdT and EdC’s. Now when it comes to shaving soaps and aftershave do you have a ‘signature scent’?

Lately I have really been enjoying Tobacco and Vanilla scents when it comes to my shave soaps as well as Bay Rum aftershave. Since I work in a Hospital I cannot wear cologne or EdTs. So I like to try and match up my balms and soaps in the morning so I can have just that little bit of scent on my face during the day without projecting it onto my patients. As for my soaps I have Razorocks Tobacco #1 and  #2, Zi’Peppino, and Tabac. All of which are very nice scents with Zi’Peppino being the most cologne like of the bunch and Tobacco #1 having the most vanilla notes. I am not sure why I have been really attracted to these type of scents. I’m not a smoker and never have been. I have enjoyed the odd cigar, but they were few and far between. The only thing I can think of is when I was a kid our local mall had a smoke shop that I always loved the smell of. ‘Whiff and Puff’ was its name and I always made sure to walk by the shop when I was at the mall.

So what is your signature scent? Does it change from season to season or even week to week? I am a year into this wet shaving hobby and was wondering about what everyone’s take on this is. I know for myself in the summer when it gets warm out I really enjoy the citrus scents of QCS Iced Key lime and Stirling’s Margarita’s in the Arctic.

Now onto today’s SHAVE!!!

Feb19

Razor : 6/8″ Gloria Razor

Soap : Razorock Tobacco #1

Brush : Semogue Owners Club Boar

Witch Hazel : Thayer’s Rose

Aftershave Balm : Barberry Coast Havana

A nice smooth straight razor shave. not perfect but very comfortable and no nicks or weepers. I decided to pair this soap with the Barberry Coast Havana Balm and BOOM!! An instant classic. I love both of these scents and the pair perfectly in my opinion. Light tobacco smell with the sweet notes of vanilla. I could seriously use this combo everyday…..but who am I kidding. I have way to many soaps and enjoy trying new stuff far too much to stick with just one. All I can say is that I hope Joe over at http://www.italianbarber.com decides to keep Tobacco #1 as a permanent offering!!!

the soap lathered easily and gave a nice rich lather with nice slickness and adequate post shave face feel. I really enjoy this soap and this soaps formula. I lathered it with my Semogue SOC Boar. this brush may be the best brush for the price that there is. Seriously soft when broken in. Very nice amount of backbone for face lathering and it whips up lather and tears into soaps with absolute ease.

So another nice shave this week and I discovered a new combo. Let me know your thoughts in the comments!! Do you have a signature scent or pairing?

Right now my signature scent is bay rum but I go in cycles. My perfect pairing of aftershave and cologne is our bay rum and Eav Des Bavx by L’Occitane.

Nice Allen! I posted on a fragrance site how I really enjoy tobacco and vanilla as well as Bay Rum and quite a few guys recommended the Bavx by L’occitane. I’ll have to try it next time I’m at the store!

As far as aftershave, I tend to favor bay rums. I just like the way they smell on me. Plus I get compliments when I wear them 😉

I Favor Classic scents like Clubman, Skin Bracer and Old Spice in After Shaves (much to the shagrin of my beloved GF). When it comes to colognes I’m all about the Burberry.
